Pré-natal odontológico: proposta de desenvolvimento de aplicativo móvel educativo para gestantes na Atenção Básica

Abstract

The prenatal dental care (PNO) is essential for comprehensive maternal and child health, enabling early risk identification, prevention of oral diseases, and the promotion of healthy habits during pregnancy. Despite its relevance, adherence to PNO remains limited due to cultural barriers, lack of information, and gaps within healthcare services. This study aims to develop a mobile application prototype focused on oral health education for pregnant women, promoting engagement, remote monitoring, and preventive care. The ADDIE methodology guided the development process, including literature review, requirements definition, interface design, digital prototyping, and preliminary validation. Tools such as Canva, Figma, and low-code platforms were used to create interactive resources, including educational videos, appointment reminders, and guidance on oral hygiene and breastfeeding. The prototype was designed to integrate with Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS), particularly the Family Health Strategy and the e-SUS AB system, ensuring alignment with public policies for oral health and maternal-child care. Results indicate that digital technologies can broaden access to information, personalize care, and strengthen the role of pregnant women as active participants in their own health, contributing to improved adherence to PNO and healthier practices. Integration with SUS supports systematic data recording, multiprofessional collaboration, and national programs such as Brasil Sorridente. The study concludes that mobile applications are strategic tools to overcome cultural and structural barriers, promoting innovation, prevention, and reduced inequalities in maternal and child oral health. The proposal aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 9, reinforcing the importance of digital solutions as complements to in-person care.
