Resumo
This study aims to investigate the integration of ballroom culture, with an emphasis on gender,sexuality, and other transversal themes, within the educational context of a public school in Manaus. The research seeks to analyze how dance and performative practices from ballroom culture can be incorporated into the school curriculum, providing students with an opportunity for critical reflection on their identity and contemporary social dynamics. The study also examines the challenges faced by teachers in adapting their methodologies to include these approaches, considering the limitations of the school context and the specificities of teacher training. Through qualitative analysis, including interviews and observations, the study proposes pedagogical strategies to promote a more inclusive and reflective educational environment, valuing gender and sexuality diversity. The research aims to contribute to the formation of a more plural and sensitive education to social issues, expanding student’s artistic repertoire, and aligning education with the challenges of contemporary society.
