Resumo
In this work we present a brief study of epidemiological models based on the assumption that they derive from the adaptation of Verhulst's logistic equation. In order to understand the process of formulating mathematical models that lead epidemiological research and disease control, and to emphasize the importance of mathematical modeling in the most diverse areas of human activity, we seek to develop the context for creating models of population growth and describe, based on the analysis of this study, the adaptations that these models underwent to be used for current purposes. The epidemiological model used as the basis of study was the SI epidemiological model (susceptible-infected) with conservation of the total population, subdivided into the SI model without vital dynamics and with vital dynamics. Finally, we conclude with the argument and description of the adaptations observed in the formulations.
