O negro no Amazonas: e a sua invisibilização no livro didático de História do Amazonas

Abstract

This article aims to present the results obtained through qualitative research and the chosen methodology, bibliographic analysis. The information presented here was obtained as a result of the analysis of the textbook Tópicos História do Amazonas Volume Unico by Grafisa Gráfica e Editora LTDA, authored by Agnaldo Figueiredo, used throughout high school in the respective series (1°, 2° and 3° year) during the time record situated in the years (2021-2023), we chose to carry out the analysis in each of the four chapters that make up the book with the intention of finding references to the black presence in Amazonas. Regarding the general objective of the research, which consists of carrying out an analysis of the historiographical representations present in the textbook regarding the black presence in Amazonas, it was noted that despite there being a reasonable number of academic works referring to the topic, the book of History of Amazonas brings black participation in the historical and social construction of the Amazon people in a simplistic way. Since it reduces such participation to an analysis of the numerical quantity of black people brought to what is today the state of Amazonas, thus ratifying the invisibility of the contribution of black hands in the historical compilation and identity of the Amazonian people.
