Proposta de modelo institucional para gestão das águas intraurbanas na área do Areal da cidade de Parintins-AM

Abstract

The aim of this article was to develop a proposal for an institutional model for intra-urban water management in the area known as Areal in the municipality of Parintins-AM. The specific objectives were to evaluate organizational proposals on water management in some Brazilian cities; subsequently, to analyze legislation on water resource management with a focus on intra-urban waters; and also to characterize the intra-urban waters of the area called Areal in the city of Parintins, which are water recharge zones. In this context, to present a proposal for an institutional model for water management in the Areal area of the city of Parintins. The research was divided into two stages, initially with a theoretical survey of the object of the research and, secondly, the characterization of the study area. The results show that although the city has a legal and institutional framework for regulating water resources, intra-urban water management is still at an early stage, lacking more effective strategies and greater coordination between the various players involved.
