Praça da saudade: estudo do petencial turístico de um marco histórico de Manaus/AM.

Abstract

This study based on the tourism space theory of Boullón (2002) using the categories of focal point analysis and area of visual influence, with Duarte's contribution (2007) on urban planning, applies to 5 de Setembro Square (popularly known such as Saudade Square) located in the Centro neighborhood, in Manaus. Of relevance for its history and collection, in 2010 the square was revitalized, but due to the absence of effective actions for its potential use, it does not fulfill its social function, and abandoned, it compromises its value as patrimony. Contemplating the general objective, the research presents an analysis of the conditions of the environment in its immediate surroundings. Regarding the specific objectives: i) presents the theoretical references that support the diagnostic analysis; ii) discusses the history and characteristics of 5 de Setembro Square; iii) presents a proposal for the integration of 5 de Setembro Square, the Congresso Square and São Sebastião Square. As for the methodology, it is an applied research, qualitative, of inductive approach; a semi-structured direct observation technique using the SWOT macro-environmental analysis matrix, analyzed the weaknesses and opportunities in the 5 de Setembro Square. As a result, based on the survey, the survey presents the weaknesses and strengths of Praça 5 de Setembro, and indicates its potential in the context of the formation of a tourist domain space. To do so, it is necessary: i) to value its historical and cultural potential; ii) recover its equipment and collection; iii) carry out regular maintenance and inspection on the spot; and then (iv) insert it into a Touristic Route with the São Sebastião Square and Congresso Square, allowing the population to enjoy the public space of leisure and tourism potential of identity and affective relevance of the Manauara society.
