Abstract

In order to understand the influences that classical ballet techniques can have on the practices and performances of a professional boi-bumbá dancer, we started this comparative, qualitative research aimed at understanding the influences of classical ballet techniques on boi-bumbá dancers. bumblebee. The methodology of this research consists of observation of the participant carried out over 11 classes, taught, under the criterion of observing the reactions and interactions that he had, from the assimilation of the classical ballet techniques that were possible to pass on to him, in this short time and the comparison between the classic and the popular. The result of this research results in collaboration of movements involving ballet and folk dance without losing the identity of both parties.
