Acessibilidade na hotelaria: um estudo de caso na rede Manaus hotéis

Abstract

Considering Decree No. 9,296/2018, which implemented accessibility standards for accommodation facilities, this research demonstrates what these standards are and the consequences of non-compliance, as, on the one hand, there is a potential market for tourists with disabilities and growth of the hotel industry, on the other hand, questions are raised about the capacity of accommodation facilities to meet accessibility standards. This article aims to analyze compliance with legal accessibility requirements in a hotel chain in Manaus. This is descriptive, explanatory and field research, using the deductive method and bibliographic and documentary approach. The results demonstrate that there are adaptations, although there is still a significant gap in full compliance with the standards established by Decrees no 9,296/2018 and no 11,303/2022, as well as by Law no 13,146/2015. Furthermore, failure to comply with legislation may result in judicial and administrative sanctions for the hotel chain.
