O uso de recursos hídricos para balneabilidade no rio Tarumã-Açu: uma análise dos flutuantes recreativos próximos à cidade de Manaus

Abstract

The Tarumã-Açu River, a tributary of the left bank of the Rio Negro, located in the western part of the municipality of Manaus, is constantly changing due to occupation by floating boats. Concern about environmental degradation, due to the activities of floating bars, restaurants, hotels and sports venues in the region, reveals the importance of discussing water resource management that aligns environmental protection and economic development. For this reason, the research aims to analyze the use of water resources for bathing and recreation resulting from the activities of floating boats on the banks of the Tarumã-Açu River, promoting a discussion on the need to regulate the activity of these floating structures. To develop this qualitative research, we used the deductive method, which provides a logical structure from the theoretical principles and broad knowledge on the subject to the specific conclusions that emerge from the analysis of the data collected on the occupation of the Tarumã-Açu River by floating boats. Bibliographic and documentary research techniques were also used, bringing together a review of interdisciplinary literature and an analysis of official documents, government reports, journalistic texts, procedural information and data collected from state bodies and institutions. In the end, it was found that there is a need for administrative and legislative coordination between public authorities at all levels in order to create an effective public policy to regulate the activities of floating people, taking into account the social, political and economic demands of the occupied region. To this end, among other aspects involving the discussion of the urban planning phenomenon, the need to guarantee the right to information, especially in environmental matters, and the importance of cooperative actions between public administration bodies were noted.
