Resumo
This monograph consists of a reflection that aimed to analyse if the methodologies
used by the teachers in the teaching of biology contribute to a significant learning for
the students. The study was conducted with teachers and students of the 3rd grade of
a public high school in the city of Manicoré-AM. The established analysis criteria were
related to the didactic methods employed by the biology teachers, the importance and
influences of the practical activities in this subject and the main learning difficulties
faced by the students in relation to the methodologies used. The research was
developed using questionnaires containing open and closed questions. The analysis
of the collected data showed that, in the students' opinion, the biology classes need to
be reformulated in their format, becoming interesting, dynamic and experimental, since
the opinion about the need for experimental activities or practical classes was almost
unanimous. / activities. From the educators' point of view, the data obtained indicate
that although teachers recognize the need for differentiated classes, whether with
laboratory practices, through videos, innovative technologies or non-formal spaces,
they make little use of active methodologies. and economic issues are one of the main
difficulties. It is known however that Innovative hands-on classes do not necessarily
need sophisticated laboratory or equipment. They can be carried out in different
spaces, such as in the school yard, in contact with nature or in the classroom, using
alternative materials. The results found in this paper point to the need to rethink the
continuing education of teachers with a teaching and learning proposal that stands out,
whenever possible, for practical activities and the use of alternative environments that
can be used as "laboratory" for classes. Finally, it is considered that the results of this
work make it possible to advise teachers from schools in the municipality of ManicoréAM, in the development of a pedagogical practice that contributes to the
accomplishment of meaningful teaching and learning processes.
