Abstract

This work presents a brief discussion on the use of play as a didactic tool in the teaching of History. Its theoretical basis lies in the work of specialists in the field of playfulness in education, Rau M. Cristina and Kishimoto, along with other authors and historians. This research was developed during the supervised internship period I with an 8th-grade class at the Belarmino Gomes de Albuquerque state school. Its purpose was to highlight the use of playfulness in the classroom, especially in history classes. The research aimed, through playfulness, to assist the teacher's teaching and the teaching of the History discipline, exploring possible paths capable of contributing to the teaching process, in order to facilitate comprehension and stimulate student enthusiasm. The authors chosen for the research were justified by their educational perspectives being related to the application of playful activities as a pedagogical tool in the educational and social development of the student.
