Suíte IV em sol maior de Silvius Leopold Weiss para alaúde, ao violão: processos de adaptação, aspectos técnico-idiomáticos e escolhas interpretativas

Abstract

This undergraduate academic work presents a guitar interpretative proposal for the Lute Suite No. 4 in G Major (SW 5) by Silvius Leopold Weiss (1687 – 1750) in the grounds of an historically pointed approach. Here, to arrange theoretical foundations for our interpretation of the mentioned musical work, we sought for turning the idiomatic technical resources of lute into reasonable corresponding guitar ones as a guiding issue to take interpretative decisions during the process of elaborating our musical performance. We hope we can reach, as an workout, a proposal which should be near of the composer’s sonority and his music-instrument language, and we finish our work by offering a transcription for the second movement from the suite, Allemande (SW 5.2), as well as a video showing our performance of this movement.
