Teatro Amazonas: espaço público de lazer para a população manauara.

Abstract

The present work is an analysis that seeks to know the perception of the Manauara population regarding the use of the Amazonas Theater as a public space of leisure today. The motivation of this research was based on knowing the relation of the local population to the patrimony, if there is belonging of the residents, or if there is a estrangement, due to the segregation as to its access after the exclusion period in its inauguration. Since it will be presented in this research a small historical cut of the period lived in the city of Manaus, will also be approached about the construction of the Theater, and what was its real objective. To obtain this answer, it was applied through a questionnaire with a sample of thirty people held in Largo São Sebastião, where they were in their moments of leisure and semi-structured interview with two of the employees of Amazonas Theater, being the director of the theater and the show manager. The questionnaire contained open and closed questions, with the general objective of ascertaining whether the Manauara population uses the activities offered at the Amazonas Theater as a leisure option. And the specific objectives were: To identify the profile of the public Manauara that visits the Amazonas Theater; To investigate how the process of publicizing the activities that the Amazonas Theater offers to the population is carried out and to analyze if the offered programs meet the demand of the public. It was based on the bibliography of renowned authors, highlighting Daou (2014). In the methodological question the approach is qualitative and quantitative and the objectives are exploratory and descriptive. As for the results, it was possible to know the relationship between the manauara population and the Amazonas Theater, and its use as a public leisure area for residents, which was shown to be frequent due to the number of interviewees visiting the Theater been greater than those who do not know him.
