Resumo
This paper deals with the Museum of the Amazon (Musa), an important tourist attraction located in the city of Manaus (AM), on the edge of the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve under the management of the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA). The aim of this study is to analyze academic productions from 2010 to 2024 and their contribution to sustainability and tourism. To this end, it was necessary to identify the main academic productions in the form of articles, books and dissertations that approach Musa from the perspective of sustainability and tourism and to describe how scientific publications analyze its role in promoting environmental education, sustainability and tourism in the Amazon region. An exploratory bibliographical study was carried out, together with a literature review of the works produced using a quantitative and qualitative approach. As a result, it was found that academic productions play a crucial role in promoting environmental education and the conservation of environmental resources in Manaus, especially in the areas of biology, pedagogy and sustainability. However, there has been a lack of work on Musa specifically in the context of tourism and leisure, considering that this living museum, in an urban environment, has abundant fauna and flora, trails, an observation tower and other attractions.
