Resumo
This study shows the importance of carefully integrating dance, drama, and music in musical theater. Show creators can produce powerful, moving work that resonates with audiences by understanding and applying these concepts in a cohesive way. The harmonious integration of these elements can contribute to the creation of a cohesive and impactful show as well as the training of the artist in construction essentially in the academic trajectory. Dance plays a crucial role in the emotional expression and storytelling of musical theater. We analyze different styles of dance, choreography and body movement as tools to convey the story and feelings of the characters. Theater is the foundation of musical theater, providing narrative structure, character development, and dialogue. The importance of theatrical interpretation in delivering authentic and captivating performances. Music is the soul of musical theater, providing rhythm, atmosphere and emotion. The song selection, composition and arrangement contribute to the overall experience of the show. As a more practical part of this study, the presentation of the excerpt from the original show “Memórias Enterradas” aims to represent a fluid and effective integration of dance, theater and music that is not available at the Escola Superior de Artes e Turismo. By using direct observation during rehearsal periods, video analysis and opening up the creative process of the researcher together with the cast. The choreography complements the narrative and the characters' feelings, while the theatrical performances convey authenticity and emotional depth. The music provides an immersive atmosphere and emphasizes key moments in the story.
