Os dados gerados sobre os visitantes nos centros de atendimento ao turista da cidade de Manaus e sua relação com o desenvolvimento do turismo local

Abstract

This study had as proposition to carry out a study about the data generated on the Tourist Information Centers (TIC) of the city of Manaus and its relation with the development of the local tourism. This research came from the following concern: what is the relation of the data got from the TICs of Manaus, with the development of the tourism in the locality? This work had as a general objective to evaluate the process of operationalization of the data generated in the Tourist Information Centers of the City of Manaus, making its relation with the development of the tourism in the locality. The specific objectives were: to identify and compare the process of getting data and systematization in Tourist Information Centers; Indicate the function of Tourist Information Centers within the Public Tourism Management policy; description of the use of the data generated in the Tourist Information Centers in the planning of the tourist development of the city of Manaus. The methodology used was a qualitative research. Exploratory for the objectivesa and for the initiatives the research were bibliographical, documentary and field research with the technique of collecting data with managers of the city TICs through semi-structured interviews. As for the results, however, the centers are located at places of interest of the city, but they are not ideal to suit the tourist well. It also does not have an efficient instrument of data collection that allows the establishment of the profile of the tourist and its information generation using strategies to plan any other promotion action. In the case of TICs promotional material, they are not elaborated according to the identified demand of the statistical data generated in the search and treatment of the information collected about the visitors. It shows the need of knowing better the visitor, so the public actions would be more effective to support and increase the tourist flow in the region.
