Turismo de saúde e cuidados paliativos: atividades turísticas que amenizam a dor Manaus

Abstract

Through tourism it is possible to have access to various fields of study and professions, among so many possibilities, one of them is health and wellness tourism. Although many areas of tourism have grown over the years, health tourism is still little explored and worked on when compared to other areas of tourism. From the observation of the author's personal situations in past experiences, besides the interest in the health area together with tourism, the research on how the two areas can come together began, more specifically in the scope of Palliative Care, which is denominated by the quality of life of patients with some pathology that threatens life, through multidisciplinary activities and teams with the objective of relieving pain and treatment, whether physical, psychological or spiritual. Therefore, this research is interested in proposing tourist activities that can help in the well-being and quality of life of these individuals based on the experience of health professionals who work with the public or who have already done some type of activity related to tourism and leisure. A survey was carried out by means of online questionnaires to health professionals so that they could answer safely at home and remotely because of the pandemic period of COVID-19 still present at the time of this research. From this collection it was possible to identify how tourism can be implemented and used to benefit the health of these patients, in addition to the personal fulfillment of existing desires even though they are facing an illness. Desires that may arise during treatment, such as visiting a tourist attraction in the city, a visit to a nearby community, the search for typical foods of the local cuisine, or even a trip to another state with proper medical care and monitoring. This is a way to promote good memories together with the patient's family and professionals, whether they are from the health field, or from social and human areas, as is the case of the tourist.
