Among the plant species of medicinal use is the Zingiber offinale known as ginger from the Zingiberaceae. In the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira-Am, many people maintains the culture and cultivation of this plant, which is consumed in different ways, for curing or preventing disease. This work sought to survey the various forms of use of ginger by the population of this municipality. For that, it was A data collection was carried out through home visits and application of quiz. The data obtained showed that there is extensive knowledge about the alternative use and treatment with medicinal plants and ginger continues to be cultivated in backyards for many years and the importance of maintaining the popular knowledge about the use of this species in folk medicine. Indigenous people, in turn, are the ones who have the most knowledge of the techniques used on the use of medicinal plants and the employment is transmitted by generations orally, which is part of their cultural tradition. in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira-AM, municipality with the largest number of indigenous inhabitants in the Brazil, knowledge of the properties of medicinal plants is one of the greatest riches of this culture. In view of the above, the objective of this work is to carry out the survey on the use of the plant species popularly known as carapanaúba, as a medicinal plant in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira - AM, as part of the rescue and maintenance of popular knowledge and preservation of the use of this natural resource. This work was carried out in the urban area of the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira in the State of Amazonas, upper Rio Negro. qualitatively and predominantly descriptive and bibliographical, the data were obtained in the form of questionnaires, descriptive texts and speeches of the interviewees, in which they were randomly selected 50 people, all were indigenous. was presented a consent form, as they are human beings. The data collected show that carapanaúba is used in tea and the method of preparation is through maceration. Because it facilitates its compounds to be extracted, for use as a prevention/cure for malaria. Carapanaúba is not used with frequency, but most have already used it. It is important to note that according to data there was a decrease in malaria cases. Knowledge of medicinal plants is being threatened by the migration of peoples to the city, which can be lost along the of years. For this, initiatives must be taken to rescue this knowledge, through booklets and awareness in schools. Keywords: medicinal plants, carapanaúba, malaria, knowledge, culture, migration, know, indigenous.Item Utilização do noni (morinda citrifolia L.) para fins medicinais em São Gabriel da Cachoeira - AM(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-09-10) Silva, Inacinho Henrique da; Uguen, KatellThe objective of this work was to investigate how Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) is prepared for consumption in the Municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, and to discover the purpose of consumption of the fruit, root or leaves of noni. In several studies, noni has been described as a fruit capable of curing different types of diseases. And due to the high number of cultivation of this plant in several backyards of the residents of the municipality, there was the curiosity to do a research on the consumption and the way of preparation of the plant or the fruit of the noni and to know for what purpose these fruits were and are consumed. . This work was developed with a semi-structured questionnaire containing nine questions, where there were objective and subjective questions to be answered. Respondents were randomly chosen from different neighborhoods in the Municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira - AM. As the main results of the research, several results were already expected in terms of curing diseases and how Noni is prepared to be consumed both for medicinal and nutritional purposes. Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira.Item Levantamento florístico da família melastomataceae na área do morro da boa esperança em São Gabriel da Cachoeira - AM(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-10-04) Rodrigues, Dayana Martins; Cavalcante, Heloide de Lima; Barbosa, Alysson Silva da MattaThe family Melastomataceae has a wide distribution worldwide, occurring from the Amazon to Rio Grande do Sul, as they are one of the most diverse varieties of species. Due to the unique characteristics of the group, as whole leaves, in opposite arrangement, without stems and ribs acrodromes, can be easily recognized in the field. They are also very often found in places that have suffered deforestation or anthropic action, as they are indicators of natural disturbance. This work has as general objective to perform the floristic survey of the species belonging to the family Melastomataceae that occur in the Boa Esperança hill in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira –Amazonas. For this, we collected and identified individuals of Melastomataceae along the main trail of the hill and finally, an illustrated guide of the main species that were sampled. According to the survey, the family Melastomataceae is represented in the study area by ten species, distributed in five genera, and Clidemia and Miconia were the only ones that presented more species, while the others (Aciotis, Leandra, Tococa) presented a single species. The ten species of the Melastomataceae family found in the Morro da Boa Esperança Area in São Gabriel da Cachoeira-AM, are extremely important because they provide data on the studied area.
