In this study, the Pearson Chi- square test (independent samples) was used for trend. To perform the test, a significance level of p-value <0.05 was adopted. In this way, the data collected were tabulated, interpreted, processed and analyzed through descriptive and analytical statistics. For the analysis of the data, we used computer resources, through processing in the Microsoft Excel system, Statistic Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0, all in the Windows 7 environment. There was a greater frequency of hospitalizations of male children (120; 51.72%), but this frequency does not differ significantly (p> 0.05) from the frequency of female children (112; 48.28%). The majority of the patients were in the age group of infants from 29 days to 6 months (137; 59.05%), and were from the interior of the state of Pará (179; 77.16%), these being pointed as tendencies (p <0.05) among the patients. It was observed that 104 (44.83%) children remained hospitalized for up to 30 days. As for the most prevalent diseases, congenital malformations of the circulatory system corresponded to 80.17% (186) and the hospital mortality rate was 15%. The results of this research point to a profile of infants, coming from the interior of the State. The most prevalent diseases in this group are congenital malformations of the circulatory system and a hospital mortality rate of 15%.Item Níveis séricos de 25-hidroxivitamina D em idosos com Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 atendidos em um Hospital Universitário de Ribeirão Preto (SP).(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-09-12) Cicilini, André LuizStudy Design: a cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study. Objectives: To quantify the serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D 25 (OH) D in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 (TD2) and the associated epidemiological profile. Methods: dosage of 25(OH)D in patients ≥ 60 years and diagnosis of confirmed T2D. Results: 81 patients were included, 59 women and 29 men aged 69,77 (± 7,30) years. Whites: 64,20%; Browns: 19,75%; Blacks: 9,88%; Yellows: 6,17%. Vitamin D supplementation: 12,34%. Serum level of 25(OH)D: 24,63 (± 7,89) ng/mL - insufficiency; 23,46% sufficient, 28,40% deficient and 48,15% insufficient. Men: 26,57 (± 8,33) ng/mL, Women: 23,42 (± 6,66) ng/ml (t-Test p = 0,0348). For BMI: normal weight 24,33 (± 8,02) ng /mL, overweight: 26,74 (± 6,93) ng /mL, obesity grade I: 20,94 (± 8,32) ng/mL, obesity grades II and III: 18,78 (± 8,75) ng/mL (ANOVA One way p = 0,0189). By glycemic control - HbA1c <7,5%: 27,85 (± 7,70) ng/mL; ≥7,5%: 20,71 (±6,50) ng/mL (t-Test = 0.001). Glucose Fasting <130 mg/dL: 26,87 (± 7,57) ng/mL, >130 mg/dL: 22,04 (± 6,91) ng/mL (t-Test = 0,003). Postprandial glycemia <180 mg/dL: 25,54 (± 7,22) ng/mL, ≥180 mg/dL: 21,24 (±6,49) ng/mL (t-Test p = 0,003). Conclusion: there was a high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in elderly patients with T2D, higher in women and obese patients in grades II and III. Possible causes: obesity, metabolic syndrome, menopause and low sun exposure. We identified an inverse relationship between serum 25 (OH) D levels and glycemic control variables (HbA1c, GJ and GPP).Item Hipodontia associada à fissura unilateral de lábio e palato em paciente não sindrômico: relato de caso(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-02-10) Lima, Marcelo Capistana deHypodontia is a form of tooth agenesis consisting of congenital absence of one to six teeth. Tooth agenesis is frequently described in combination with cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P). The aim of this work is to present a clinical case of hypodontia associated with right sided and complete cleft palate in a 16 years-old melanodermic non-syndromic young male. He was attended at the dentistry service of the Special Patients Center of the University of the State of Amazon. At clinical exam was verified the previous accomplishment of cheiloplasty and palatoplasty, besides decay lesion in the elements 36 and 46. Tooth agenesis of the teeth 25, 18, 38 and 48 was detected at radiographic exam. Restoring procedures were accomplished at the carious elements with oxide of zinc and eugenol and the patient was referred to another health unit to perform the permanent restorations and dental care. A pattern, commonly described for this type of cleft was not observed in this case, demonstrating that a strong and independent genetic basis might play an important role in tooth agenesis, despite the presence of CL/P.Item Estudo Epidemiológico dos pacientes submetidos à videolaringoscopia durante a Campanha da Voz no Amazonas(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-08-15) Müller, Layla CalazansIntroduction: Voice is one of the main ways of human communication and its inappropriate use can lead to organic and functional lesions of the vocal tract. In osseous coalition, the carpal elements are united as a single osseous block, whereas, in nonosseous coalition, the affected carpal bones are united by either cartilage (synchondrosis), fibrous tissue (syndesmosis), or some combination. Case reports: Case 1: 56 year-old woman with pain and functional limitation in the right wrist for 4 months. It refers to rheumatoid arthritis for 25 years. Case 2: A 39- year-old man with pain in his right hand after trauma for five years. He refers to pain in the right hand before the trauma, but with marked worsening after the episode, limiting the movement of the joint. Discussion: Pancarpal coalition is the coalition of all or most of the carpal bones, when observed, usually occurs within the constellation of one syndrome, like Ellisevan Creveld syndrome, symphalangism, Steel syndrome,Holt-Oram syndrome, arthrogryposis multiplex congenital, otopalatodigital syndrome, and Apert syndrome. The carpal coalition may be possibly related to inflammatory arthropathies - rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and Reiter Syndrome. Conclusion: We report two rare cases of pancarpal coalition of different etiologies documented by radiography and magnetic resonance imaging.Item Perfil Epidemiológico e métodos diagnósticos de pacientes com nefrolitíase, atendidos no Serviço de Urologia da Fundação Hospital Adriano Jorge nos anos de 2010 a 2012, na cidade de Manaus- Amazonas(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2018-08-13) Filho, Sérgio Antônio Saldanha RodriguesNephrolithiasis is considered in some studies as a public health problem. It is estimated that 5 to 15% of the world population will experience some episode of kidney stones throughout life, being among the most susceptible group of males (3: 1), Caucasian and young age group, especially among It is important to note that lithiasis has high recurrence rates. Helical computed tomography (CT) has played an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of renal lithiasis, being considered in recent years by some authors as a “watershed”, a role previously attributed to excretory urography (UE). 66 patients were analyzed, mostly men, mostly between 20 and 40 years old. In all, 82% had nephretic colic, 12% urinary tract infection and 6% incidental diagnosis. 42% underwent an abdominal x-ray in the initial evaluation, 86% underwent at least one ultrasound of the kidneys and urinary tract, 33% underwent computed tomography, 97% collected a urine sample for EAS, 48% collected a 24-hour urine , 6% underwent an excretory urography, and in 62 patients (94%) serum biochemistry was requested. The most widely used clinical therapy was dietary guidance (97%). Regarding surgical treatment, there were 25 surgeries, with 6 complications, all self-limited. Finally, regarding the evolutionary outcome of these patients: 34 (52%) had resolution of the condition, with no recurrences during the study period; 17 (26%) had recurrence of the condition, with 16 patients after exclusive clinical treatment and only one recurrence after surgical treatment (ESWL); and there was therapeutic failure in 15 patients (23%), 12 of which were referred for a first or new surgery. The present study reaffirms most indicators of other studies at national and world level for the hospitals involved.Item Perfil de internação dos leitos da residência em clínica médica da Fundação Hospital Adriano Jorge no ano de 2007(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2018-07-12) Júnior, Edival Ferreira de OliveiraThe objective of this study is to collect and analyze data regarding FHAJ hospitalization demand in the Medical Clinic, observing the variety of diagnoses, the conduction of the cases as well as their outcomes, and to associate these data with the medical education process that takes place in this place.
