Resumo
In dance training, the process of memorization tends to influence the quality of
learning and performance of the dancer, this can be evidenced by the student in the
difficulties of performing the dance. The objective of this work was to verify how the
memorization process takes place and the quality of dance learning.This is a field
research that involved students of the dance training course of levels II and III of the
Claudio Santoro High School; the group of students is made up of 11 students in
adolescence and adults, aged between 14 and 27 years. The research instrument
were questionnaire and interview, obtaining as a result, that memorization is a
process that should be stimulated; students facing the process of teaching
choreography experience difficulties in memorizing the sequences, however, they
use various learning strategies, one of which is repetition. The research subjects also
point out that the teacher should use diversified strategies in order to contribute to
their learning.
