Resumo
In this work, I use the Chicago Musical as an analysis of the choreographic structure and staging by Bob Fosse. At the first part, I present the history of the Musical Theater in its origin and arrival in Brazil, besides making a relationship with the musical works in the movies; I conclude this chapter with Bob Fosse's presentation and his main works: Cabaret, Chicago and All That Jazz. Then, elucidated how the research was structured methodologically in its data collection for analysis of the work based on the documentary of Fosse with excerpts in his first run, of the film released in 2002 and the revival to the Theater in Brazil in 2004. Finally, I consider and present specific choreographic and dramaturgical issues of the work, from its social relationship inserted at the time, to the relationships of the characters with the present moment.
