Resumo

The classic ballet has artistic purpose benefits, Just as it can improve fitness and personal conditions, tone body, muscles, protect joints and prevent discase. The classical technique requires some principles of posture such as erect body and always alongated, which can facilitate the correct use of posture. Some authors have proven that the classical ballet develops postural control through recognition of body parts and muscle fortification. The manifestation of the agin process is declining in individuals of the same and different species. This finding motives researchers to look for a lot of definitions of what aging is, which dasn’t prevent these various difinitions from having something in common, namely decline of physiological functions of the body, loss of functionality with advancing age increased incidence of desease of increased probability of death. Given this, the research aimed to analyze tha postural changes in the column of elderly woman aged 60 to 80 years old, caused by the practice of the technique of classical ballet dance, examine the posture of the study group submitted to the research procedures and compare if these were postural changes in the period of 3 months and discuss if the changes happened because of practice of classical ballet.
