Memórias do concreto: explorando a relação corpo-espeço -memória no centro histórico de Manaus

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between body-space-memory in abandoned spaces of the Historic Center of Manaus. It seeks to understand how personal and collective memories, sensations, experiences, reflections, stories and discussions generate creative processes based on interactions with the city. The research aims to reflect on these experiences through writing, capturing the nuances of everyday life, the memories that emerge, the sounds and smells, the conversations in the streets, the marks of resistance of the ruins, among other subjective aspects that emerge throughout the investigative process. This study highlights the impact of the perception of the city, broadening the understanding of how personal memories and experiences connect with the physical space. By using the method of cartography, the research intertwines personal memories with the stimuli generated by abandoned spaces, offering a process of understanding the body-space-memory. This study not only contributes to the field of art and urbanism, but also to a reflection about the preservation of collective memory and the importance of spaces that are often forgotten. The reader is invited to embark on this journey of discovery, immersing themselves in the sites and the memories that resonate in them, in a process of creative construction involving, both the practices and the writing itself, which reveals hidden layers of the city and the author.
