Resumo

There has been significant progress in the use of quality tools for continuous process improvement, driven by the growing relevance of quality management, customer focus, and market competitiveness aimed at minimizing nonconformities in the production process. Based on this context, this study performs a data analysis using quality tools and process mapping. Thus, the objective is to study this information together with the tools mentioned above in order to investigate which are the most frequent nonconformities in the process and their impact onperformance indicators. To this end, the methodology of this study is based on quantitative and qualitative research on the subject presented, through a case study carried out with data from a production process in a multifunctional company in the air conditioning industry. The results reveal significant information about the assembly process, and with the help of other tools, situations in which quality tools are essential to gain insights in order to minimize nonconformities stand out, such as implementing checklists, developing operational training programs, and establishing performance indicators focused on the quality strategy. These actions aim to reduce rework and costs, strengthen the culture of quality and transform operational excellence into a sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, an effective relationship of complementarity between the tools used is evident, whose characteristics combine to make the processes more detailed and visually clear. This also serves as a basis for future research, allowing for a more in-depth study of the topic and the tools explored.
