Resumo
This study focuses on History Teaching in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). It highlights the role of History teaching in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) from the perspective of older students and their return to the classroom. It is based on the experience of a supervised internship in History I, part of the Bachelor's Degree in History at the Center for Higher Education of Itacoatiara, Amazonas State University (CESIT-UEA). This internship was developed at the Professora Maria Nira Guimarães Municipal School, with EJA students aged 60 to 75, during the evening shift, based on the pedagogical action project proposed in the Internship I report. It uses qualitative research as its method, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The results of this study show that History teaching in EJA goes beyond academic content, playing a significant role in the formation of older students' identity and citizenship, as it connects formal knowledge with life knowledge.
