Resumo
This research is the result of a scientific investigation related to the insertion of alumni of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in a Higher Education Institution in the city of Parintins-Am. The study aims to understand what motivated the graduates of the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality to enter higher education, what are the challenges faced along this path and what are their perspectives. In the methodological path this study stands out for its qualitative nature and phenomenological approach, using the case study, consolidated through data collection techniques through a questionnaire with open answers. Academics from the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) at the Center for Superior Studies of Parintins (CESP) were interviewed in the Pedagogy course. A theoretical contribution was used that supported and supported the reflections related to the theme in question, such as the works by Cunha (1999), Freitag (1986), Miranda, (2003), Ghiraldelli (2008), Soares (2002), Di Pierro, (2005) and Brzezinski (2001), authors who helped us to carry out a historical review of Youth and Adult Education; Bernadim (2008), who discusses programs aimed at EJA, Freire (2011, 2001) who bring an undeniable contribution to the specifics of the modality, Catanante (2000), Almeida and Neto (2013), Silva and Veloso (2003), Costa and Amorim, (2020), Bovo (2001) Vargas and Paula (2013), Gadotti (2006), Piconez (2004), Haddad (1991), Covey (2005) and others in which we we support the analysis of the data collected. It was found that graduates of Youth and Adult Education occupy the university space, showing that academics had different motivations that culminated in their insertion in the university. Making it clear that challenges exist, however they can and must be overcome. Regarding their prospects for the future, it was confirmed that they are the best possible, they aim to successfully complete the undergraduate course, seek an opportunity in the job market and continue their studies with the condition for lifelong and lifelong learning.
