Acessibilidade na produção cultural na cidade de Manaus: desafios e pespectivas

Abstract

This research investigates cultural dance production in Manaus, focusing on accessibility for people with disabilities. The study does not limit itself to a specific disability or accessibility measure. It aims to examine what Brazilian legislation guarantees regarding the rights of people with disabilities, while also exploring the challenges faced by dance producers and professionals in planning and implementing accessibility resources, monitors, and assistive technologies in their programs. The methodology follows a phenomenological approach, considering the lived experiences of independent dance companies and their cultural producers in their daily activities. The research is basic in nature, qualitative in its approach, exploratory in scope, and designed as a field research, involving direct interaction with participants. Data collection instruments included a semi-structured question guide, a voice recorder, and a field diary. The results reveal that the primary barrier to achieving accessibility in dance productions in Manaus is the financial limitations of the companies, compounded by the high costs of providing accessibility resources. These findings highlight the urgent need for public policies that support accessibility efforts, ensuring research, involving direct interaction with participants.
