Resumo
This work aimed to analyze whether the practice of Jazz Dance can favor the development of adolescent expression, developing the foundations of this technique in participatory practice classes for students, observing the execution of the movement qualities and their relationship with self-knowledge and proposing the practice of Jazz Dance as a contribution to the acquisition of self-esteem, socialization and expressiveness in students with difficulties and social inhibition. Through meetings and dance classes with students from 6th 01 of Elementary School at the Arthur Araújo State School, the importance of the art of dance in the school context and its activities, as will be exposed in this work, is able to be present and positively influence the lives of the involved. Therefore, this study aims to enrich and understand the art of dance as an instrument for the path of expressiveness and self-knowledge and how Jazz Dance and its foundations can contribute to the insertion of dance in the school environment based on evidence.
