Resumo
This research addresses the contribution of Dance to the development of expressive skills in non-verbal children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on the general objective of investigating the potential contributions of dance classes to the development of expressive skills in children with ASD (non-verbal), describing the potential of this art when associated with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), in support of the learning of students in this condition, considering that children with this condition tend to have difficulties in communicating and socializing, often ending up being isolated from social interaction and facing challenges in being properly reached by education. The methodology follows a phenomenological approach, taking into account the reality of the context in which the child is inserted, and adopts a qualitative approach, resorting to descriptive exploratory research, and a case study linked to action research. The collected data were investigated and understood according to content analysis. The results highlight the efficacy of dance as a nonverbal expression, showing significant overcoming of initial challenges, and emphasize the importance of this practice in the inclusive educational context to promote more empowering and inclusive environments.
