Resumo
Classical ballet is known for its tradition and technical rigor, a methodology that demands high performance from the lower limbs, which increases the predisposition to injuries in this region, whether related to repetitive practice and/or extrinsic factors, such as the use of ballet shoes, which are specific to this discipline. In this study, we focused on ballet slippers, specifically the full-sole and split-sole models. With this in mind, the general objective was to investigate thermographic variations using two types of ballet shoes and to evaluate the distribution of plantar pressure in dancers' feet using baropodometry. This descriptive, quantitative study was carried out at the Amazonas State University (UEA), in the Biomechanics laboratory (BiomechLab), with a sample of 25 dancers with at least two years' experience in classical ballet. Among the thermographic findings, the split-sole shoe showed a greater thermal increase in the forefoot region, while the full-sole shoe showed a more concentrated thermal increase in the midfoot region. The thermographic variations in the regions analyzed are directly related to the friction generated during exercise and the type of shoe used.Baropodometry proved useful for monitoring plantar distributions, paying attention to asymmetries related to lower limb dominance or recent injuries.
