Computational Simulation of Injection Mold Cooling Systems: A Comparative Analysis. 2023. 47 p. Undergraduate Thesis in Mechanical engineering- Universidade do Estado do Amazonas- Manaus, 2023. The plastic injection molding process is widely used in various industries, but the final product quality is influenced by several factors, including the mold design. Injection simulation is a key tool to ensure the efficiency and quality of the molding process, allowing the identification of common problems such as weld lines and deformation, as well as the evaluation of different scenarios, which reduces costs and time for new product development. In this context, this work aims to analyze the efficiency of the cooling system in a four-cavity mold, using injection simulation with the CAE Solidworks Plastics software. Two cooling systems were tested, one in series and one in parallel, and the degree of deformation caused by each system in the part was verified..Item Influência dos núcleos honeycombs hexagonal, auxético e híbrido a base de petg e pla em compósitos sanduíche utilizando sisal-epóxi(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2023-03-31) Araujo, Victor William Fonseca; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Kieling, Antônio Cláudio; Torres, Aristides RiveraIn this work, the making of sandwich panels was elaborated. In total, six panels were produced with different characteristics in relation to the core and the type of material used, which in the future will become the test specimens of the experiment carried out. In summary, a sandwich panel is a structure made up of two faces and a core in the middle of these and its main objective is to provide a structure with good mechanical properties, mainly in relation to its flexural rigidity, having a low density. Starting from this point, for the faces, a composite made of epoxy resin and sisal was used. And for the cores, honeycombs of different configurations were used, made of PETG and PLA in the 3D printer. Sisal is a plant grown in semi-arid regions and is used for commercial purposes, with the states of Bahia and Paraíba, in Brazil, being the main producers. Sisal fiber is compared to fiberglass in terms of strength and stiffness, but it is cheaper. In addition, sisal fiber is non-toxic and does not irritate the worker's skin. All of these factors make sisal one of the most studied plant fibers. Three types of different configurations of honeycombs were used, namely hexagonal, auxetic and hybrid. The honeycombs cores, aim to support the faces of the sandwich structure, their arrangements based on biomimetics, make them a material of high mechanical properties and low density. Along with these nuclei, their behavior in PETG and PLA materials was also tested. The PETG material performed better when compared to PLA, with the exception of the hexagonal PETG honeycomb. The best performing honeycomb of the PETG material had 8.87% more than the best performing PLA. As for the structures of the cores, the ones that fared better were the cores with auxetic structural configurations for PETG and hybrid for PLA.Item Estudo de ocorrência de gap entre tampa traseira e gabinete injetados plasticamente num monitor de 29 polegas(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2023-03-31) Ponte, Arthur Gabriel Cardoso Da; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Kieling, Antônio Cláudio; Torres, Aristides RiveraOver time, processes and products have increased their complexity, consequently, quality follows this trend. In this regard, customers are more concerned about your product and are looking for something without flaws or defects. In this way, companies, in order to remain in the market, must deliver products and services that satisfy and conquer their consumers, since losing the trust of a customer can have consequences that go beyond the reduction of the cost of the product (RODRIGUES, 2018 ). Based on this, this project aimed to highlight a recurring failure for a monitor factory of a South Korean multinational company in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, where there is a production line capable of making the complete assembly of the monitor for shipment to the customer. The monitor is divided into three main parts: the module (where the screen and the main control board are located), the cabinet (which is attached to the module to fix it to the cover), and the rear cover (responsible for protecting the device against dirt and impacts. In the production line of the factory in question, it was observed that some monitors had a certain opening in one of the closing parts, specifically in the upper right corner between the cabinet and the back cover. Such a problem, recurrent in factories, is called of GAP (from the English, “interval”) Due to this, the production had to be interrupted for a certain time. In this context, the opportunity arose to develop and research methods that were capable of working with root cause concepts such as the Ishikawa diagram and with problem solving concepts such as the famous 8D method to act systematically so that it was possible to use interim solutions to maintain production while the root cause is not reached, consequently, the definitive solution. After that, it was observed that the problem was concentrated in injection parameters that directly affected the cabinet (part that is the result of plastic injection) that, after adjustments, had positive effects, in addition to project improvements that were able to eradicate the problem of GAP and serve as an example for countless other cases in this company.Item Estudo de compósitos de estrutura sanduíche utilizando sisal–epóxi e núcleo honeycomb a base de petg e pla feito em impressora 3d.(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2023-04-05) Jesus, Caio Gabriel Costa De; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Evangelista Neto, João; Torres, Aristides RiveraPolymeric matrix compounds have been widely used in several industries, thanks to the advantages offered by polymers, such as ease of processing, low cost, high productivity and versatility. Among the most common applications are aerospace, automotive, military, civil construction and the production of sports equipment. Additive manufacturing, through 3D FDM printing, is a technique that enables the creation of parts at low cost, design freedom and faster prototyping cycles, being widely used in engineering and showing strong growth in the coming years. Sisal is a plant that was designed in Bahia, more specifically in the municipality of Santaluz, in 1910, but it only started to be commercially exploited from the 1930s onwards. socioeconomic importance, generating employment and income for approximately 700,000 family farmers, in addition to jobs in other stages of the chain, usually in urban centers. Sandwich panels are used to withstand normal tensile emotions, stresses and shear associated with bending, and the choice of faces that make up the panel is directly influenced by the number and inspiration of the overlaps. The core of the panel, in turn, must keep the faces apart and be rigid perpendicularly to them. Bend tests tolerated that sandwich composites perform better with PETG, a type of polymer stronger than PLA, used in 3D printing, although composites with PLA are lighter due to the lower core density. Flexural tests showed that composite sandwiches performed better with PETG. In all tests PETG was more resistant, generally speaking 21% to 32% more resistant than PLA. Although there was no rupture in the specimens, the cores in PETG deformed from 0.5% to 3.6% less than the PLA. The PLA composites were lighter, due to the core density being 13.8% lower than the PETG cores.Item Comparação de propriedades mecânicas dos compósitos reforçados com fibras de juta e de sisal(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2023-03-31) Miranda, Éber Nogueira; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Pino, Gilberto Garcia Del; Kieling, Antônio Cláudio; Torres, Aristides RiveraThe constant search for technological improvement regarding the use of various types of composite materials to obtain various products on the market means that there are new methods and standards with regard to the study of alternative and sustainable sources for the composition of new materials. Currently, the concept of sustainability is about the point of view of environment protection, and this influences the issue of studying new composites to obtain materials that do not harm nature, a fact that already exists. The global trend is for human beings to start consuming many products that are discarded in a period and there’s no policy aimed at their reuse, in addition to serving as a benefit to society, in view of the inclusion in the job market of people who make a living from recycling materials. Another issue to be raised and it is very pertinent is related to the study of natural fibers that can replace artificial or synthetic fibers, those which are under study so that new composite materials can be manufactured on a large scale. This work aims at comparative study of the mechanical properties of two composites, made with epoxy resin, each one with natural fiber reinforcement, sisal and jute, treated with Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), for the purpose to obtain better resistance for these materials, giving to them the due importance materials employment, obtaining the mechanical properties value averages for comparison between these materials.Item Desenvolvimento de compósitos de resina epóxi com fibra vegetal de curauá sem tratamento químico(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2021-12-18) Silva Neto, Valério Urbano da; Garcia Del Pinto, Gilberto; Rivera Torres, Aristides; Santos, Marcos Dantas dosToday in the world there is a race in the search for materials from renewable sources. The use of vegetable fibers reinforcing polymers, for example, represents an alternative to replacing glass or carbon fibers in composites. Curauá is a legitimately Brazilian plant, easy to grow and process, which produces fibers with excellent mechanical performance. In this work an evaluation of epoxy resin matrix composites and vegetable fibers is made, whose fiber is extracted from the leaves of a plant in the Amazon region called curauá (Ananas erectifolius). The aim of this work is to study the mechanical behavior in tensile strength of epoxy matrix composites reinforced with continuous and aligned fibers. The curauá fibers were separated and a simple process was defined for cleaning (washing and drying), separating into groups and cutting the fibers in natura. Epoxy resin matrix composites and curauá plant fibers were molded into different groups with different percentages of fibers in relation to the composite. After that, the resin and fiber plates were cut with a laser, according to the dimensions defined by the D638 standard, producing the specimens that would be used in the mechanical tensile tests, with thin parallel longitudinal and transversal grooves being machined to place the fibers with precision, and finally some bodies were evaluated in the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) after rupture. As a result of this work, it is possible to conclude that the use of fibers, even without chemical treatment, is satisfactory. After all, with only 30% of fibers it is possible to practically double the strength of the material, which went from approximately 34 MPa (pure resin) to practically 65 MPa. The applications of these composites will not be unlimited, however, composites with the Amazonian fiber curauá can replace, in several cases, the composites of synthetic fibers, providing a lower impact on the environment, helping sustainability and even generating new sources of employment for the poorest populations in the Amazon.Item Análise de falhas e implementação de soluções na bomba centrífuga de uma distribuidora de combustíveis(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2022-10-25) Jaqtinon, Hirla de Cássia Castro; Hechavarria Perez, José Ramón Hechavarría Pérez; Evangelista Neto, João; Cisneros, Edry Antonio GarciaThis work introduces in desenvolpment the analysis of fails through in centrifugal pumps, trought FMEA - Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. The present work deals with the installation of two robotic cells in a production cell for the manufacture of copper tubes used in the production of air conditioners. The chosen theme will address the issue of the challenge of automating processes that have ergonomic risks and that need to be improved according to the regulatory standards in force in the project in question (NR10, NR12 and NR17). Here, in this work, it will be possible to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the implementations that will be carried out, as well as the gains of the factory after the release of the project. The choice of using robots in the system was followed by the possibility of it performing the necessary tasks with precision and making the productive process effective in terms of quality and productivity, thus reducing waste and reducing the risk of accidents at work.Item Estudo dos procedimentos e técnicas de soldagem com eletrodo revestido para a soldagem do alumínio.(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2022-10-27) Oliveira, Felipe Abraão Lima De; Torres, Aristides Rivera; Garcia Del pino, Gilberto; Kieling, Antônio ClaudioDue to the vast majority of bibliographies addressing only the welding process with coated electrodes for steels. Process in which they are presented as one of the most repetitive for manufacturing and repair using welding as a process. In the case of aluminum, protective gases are used more, although the process with a coated electrode can be carried out, the difficulties in the process are related to the parameters and knowledge of the process and preparation of the base metal. In the selection of parameters and base materials, consumables that will be used. Therefore, a procedure is necessary to clearly and objectively define techniques and procedures that assist in welding with aluminum coated electrodes. From the preparation to the validation step of the weld beads with tensile tests of the specimens.Item Eliminação das paradas de linhas ocasionadas pela chave de acoplação do prensador manual.(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-12-09) Brazão, Jéssica Ribeiro; Kieling, Antônio Claudio; Nascimento, Raimundo Nonato Pinheiro do; Rivero LLerena, Gabriel FedericoIn the researched literature, there are several details about the JIT philosophy and case studies for problem solving using the quality tools. From this point, it is used both the JIT philosophy and the quality tools to identify, analyze, take action and check a problem that occurred in the engine assembly line of a Motorcycle maker located at the Manaus Industrial Pole. First, a monetary-focused survey of all engine assembly line problems over a given period is made and then a Pareto chart is used to identify which one is the most important. Given this, the most important problem is identified and then it is critically analyzed and understood the reason of this been a problem. After identifying and analyzing the problem, it is raised proposals that could eliminate the problem, followed by a feasibility study. After the feasibility study, the approved proposal are implemented and its results are followed up. Within the obtained results, it is made a comparison between before and after of the improvements implementation. It is emphasized once again, the monetary impact of the taken action.
