(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2024-02-23) Martins, Vinícius Leão Souza; Souto, Luciano Hercílio Alves; Souto, Luciano Hercílio Alves; Carvalho, Márcio Pacheco de; Caiado, Nelson Fernando
This academical work consists of on comparison research around the guitar editions and transcriptions for J. S. Bach’s Fugue BWV 998, possibly for lute-harpsichord, which were carried out by Koonce (2002), Hoppstock (1999), Segovia (2000), Zigante (2001) and Chiesa (1991). The aim is to find out editorial procedures which were used in the editions investigated to get criteria that can be used as a basis for further transcriptions, as well as some choice for music performance on the guitar. Furthermore, we aim to map the elements we will get on the grounds of a comparison analysis of both the transcriptions mentioned above and the facsimile edition seeking to identify and classify them, from which we could draw information to substantiate possible future guitar transcriptions of this musical work.

Through what was presented in this article, we observed that there are a range of strategies (retrospective of thoughts and focuses of attention during practice; codification of music in terms of structure and tonal relationships; construction of performance cues based on the hierarchical organization of musical structures, among others) that are related to the level of maturity on the instrument, together with dedication and persistence, can bring good results to the instrumentalist during the performance.

(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2024-02-09) Santos, Alan Jessé Leite dos; Trilha Neto, Mario Marques; Trilha Neto, Mario Marques; Riera, Gustavo Javier Medina; Monteiro, Guilherme Aleixo da Silva
The aim of this paper is to enlighten the collaboration between the clarinetist brothers Anton and Johann Stadler during the 18th century in Vienna. It investigates the technical advances and development processes of the clarinet and the basset horn, as well as their consolidation in the repertoire written for them. We will discuss the most diverse formations, as well as the mutual influence between Mozart and other composers with whom the Stadler brothers collaborated with and their lasting contributions to the instrument's classical repertoire. It also aims to comprehend the impact of the Stadler brothers within the relationships they maintained, with special emphasis on their friendship with W. A. Mozart. The modifications proposed by the Stadler brothers for the construction of the clarinet, later implemented by Theodor Lotz, the wind instrument builder of the period, will be demonstrated. Lastly, the aim of the research is also to unfold the legacy through the concerts performed by the Stadler brothers during their lives, as well as their careers between 1773 and 1791, by analyzing fragments of letters, concert posters, comparing texts, and cross- referencing.
